Being born with a silver spoon sounds like a dream. But in the long run, the privilege of coming from money can turn into our biggest misfortune. Because having everything we wish for by default deprives us of the euphoria we get after achieving things ourselves. And no one understands this better than those stars who have worked hard to reach their level of success. And this is why many of them are determined to make their kids follow the path of perseverance rather than luxury.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick

Parker and Broderick are parents to a boy and 2 girls. The 57-year-old actress was raised in a hard-working average family, and revealed that she was never spoiled and even ’’starved for attention’’ as a child.

And even though her reality has changed a lot now, Parker had once opened up in an interview saying that her son ’’only wears hand-me-downs’’ from older nephews. She further explained, ’’I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. […] I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different.’’

Julia Roberts and Daniel Moder

Married for 20 years now, the famous actress and her husband have 3 children. Roberts revealed her approach to parenting, and noted that “nothing is ’stronger than gentleness.’”

She explained, “I think some people confuse unconditional love with spoiling.” She then made it clear that this is not the case in her own household, saying, “None of my kids would think I have a problem with that distinction.”
